We work with craftspeople, artisans and family-owned factories to bring our beautiful, long-lasting and meticulously designed kitchens and storage units to life.
Every A.S.Helsingö product is meticulously crafted from high-quality materials by experienced craftspeople around Finland. For us, it’s a question of providing you with the best possible product and respecting artisanship. We also love knowing how, where and by whom our products are made.
Our kitchens and storage units are manufactured in a factory in the Finnish Lake District. We want to support craftsmanship traditions, which is why we work with a factory that continues the traditions of several generations and foster deep and collaborative relationships with each provider.
We are constantly exploring new production methods and perfecting prototypes to create products that are both functional and beautiful. A focus on quality ensures that the space that you create ages beautifully.
Our furniture are carefully spray-painted several times to create a matte finishing. The veneer used in our oak and walnut products is genuine wood veneer from the finest stock, carefully reviewed and checked to ensure visually pleasing surfaces. Every veneer piece is finished to the highest degree, and no piece leaves the factory without a thorough inspection.
Our handles and legs are handcrafted from solid metals by a factory in Eastern Finland owned by a family that prides itself in creating products that will last from generation to generation. Each piece is also hand-polished by artisans in the Finnish archipelago close to the Åland Islands.
Our ceramic Candy handles are designed and handmade by artist Leena Kouhia without moulds or machinery in a studio in Helsinki. Combining high-quality materials with meticulous design and skilful handicraft makes a handle or a leg much more than just a handle or a leg – it becomes a piece of art.
We believe that beautiful materials build harmonious interiors that cater to all senses and last time. That’s why we’ve always championed genuine, high-quality materials like brass, copper, marble, walnut and oak – materials that age beautifully and can be turned into functional and elegant products in the hands of skilled craftspeople.
Using genuine materials allows us to explore the personality of each material and add an element of nature into each interior design solution. We leave all brass and copper handles and legs untreated to allow them to age naturally and to show the passing of time.
