When choosing the material for your worktop, it's essential to consider what kind of space the worktop will be used in and how you want to use it.

A ceramic worktop is the most durable choice. It’s perfect for areas that are regularly affected by food spills and splashes. Quartz is also a resistant material and a good choice for kitchen worktops. It’s not affected by acid foods and is relatively scratch-resistant. The only difference between ceramic and quartz worktops is that quartz isn’t heat resistant.

Granite is a natural stone. It’s durable but porous, which means they do need occasional maintenance. Worktops in these materials are beautiful for kitchen islands or sideboards where the chance of splashes is smaller.

Granite worktops are durable and only require easy care. The Colonial White granite worktops have a sealer that protects them.

Marble worktops look incredible and are a stunning choice for your home. However, it's important to remember that marble is the softest stone material. Any oily, acidic, or colourful foods may leave permanent marks on your worktop. If you embrace the patina as a design feature, marble countertops are incredible.

Measurement and installation are included in service.

It’s important to take care of your worktop with the correct cleaning methods. Below you’ll find instructions on how to take care of worktops in the different materials we offer.

        Ceramic

We recommend that you clean ceramic worktops daily with mild, ph-neutral dish detergent and warm water. Dilute 1 tsp. detergent in 1 liter of water, and then wipe it with a soft, microfiber cloth. Do not use acidic detergents or bleach.

Ceramic worktops are very scratch and heat resistant, which means that you can even put a hot pan on it.

        Quartz

We recommend that you clean quartz worktops daily with mild, ph-neutral dish detergent and warm water. Dilute 1 tsp. detergent in 1 liter of water, and then wipe it with a soft, microfiber cloth. Do not use acidic detergents or bleach. You can also use a specific detergent meant for quartz on more persistent stains. The surface may scratch if you use abrasive detergents or sponges.

Quartz can crack if it’s subjected to heat, so always use potholders on quartz worktops.

        Granite

We recommend that you clean granite worktops daily with mild, ph-neutral dish detergent and warm water. Dilute 1 tsp. detergent to 1 liter of water, and then wipe it with a soft, microfiber cloth. Do not use acidic detergents or bleach. You can also use a specific detergent meant for natural stones on more persistent stains. Avoid detergents with acids or bleach. The surface may scratch if you use abrasive detergents or sponges.

Prevention is the key to maintaining the shine of your granite worktop. Always wipe out any spills and splashes that might dull the surface. We recommend that you use cutting boards and potholders to keep the surface beautiful and shiny longer. The Colonial White granite worktop doesn't need to be resealed.

        Marble

The key to keeping your marble worktop in good condition is prevention. Always wipe spills and splashes immediately. You can do the daily cleaning with mild, ph-neutral dish detergent and warm water. Dilute 1 tsp. detergent to 1 liter of water, and then wipe it with a soft, microfibre cloth. Never use harsh cleaners such as vinegar or ammonium-based detergents, or any abrasive, scouring products that can scratch the surface. If you have a persistent stain on the worktop, you can use a specific detergent for marble.

Always use cutting boards and potholders on marble worktops. Kindly note that, even with diligent cleaning, marble might stain, and the color of your worktop might change over time. The impregnating sealer on marble worktops needs to be renewed at least once a year.
